Gene & target formatting

  • Human gene: BRCA1 (italicized, uppercase)
  • Mouse gene: Brca1 (italicized, sentence case)

Publishing guidelines & best practices

For clarity and consistency with scientific publishing standards, we recommend italicizing the suffix component of AUM BioTech product names (e.g., AUMsilence sdASO). This formatting helps distinguish the functional identifier from the company prefix and aligns with established scientific nomenclature conventions adopted by journals. When referencing gene targets, researchers typically follow HUGO Gene Nomenclature Committee (HGNC) guidelines for human genes and Mouse Genome Informatics (MGI) guidelines for murine genes. Product trademarks (™) are typically included in the first mention within the main text and may be omitted in subsequent references according to journal preferences.
